Portia Serame is Vice President of Human Resources at Kyverna Therapeutics. Ms. Serame has over 20 years of experience in biotechnology and medical device startups partnering with business leaders to build companies from the ground up, spearheading strategic planning and implementing initiatives, programs and policies. Portia focuses on both strategic and operational HR best practices which she attributes to her passion and natural curiosity about people and behavior. Overseeing all aspects of human resources management, she establishes and develops HR infrastructure and teams to effectively support rapid business growth.

Portia joined Kyverna from ReCor Medical, a Medical Device company pioneering Ultrasound Renal Denervation therapy to treat hypertension. In her four years at ReCor, Portia built the Global HR foundation and infrastructure while in hypergrowth including building a Commercial Team. Prior to ReCor, she established the HR foundation and built teams at GE Healthcare, Affymetrix and FUJIFILM Wako Diagnostics.

Portia holds bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology and Psychology from University of California, Davis and in Human Resources Management from San Francisco State University.
