Dominic Borie, MD, PhD

Strategic Advisor

Dominic Borie, MD, PhD, serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and the Board, having previously served as both founder CEO and subsequently President of Research and Development at Kyverna. Dominic is an accomplished immunologist and digestive tract and liver transplant surgeon with extensive experience in drug development.

Prior to joining Kyverna in 2020, Dominic served as the Vice President and Head of External Research and Development at Horizon Therapeutics. From 2005 through 2018, Dominic held leadership positions at Genentech, Amgen, and Roche. While at Genentech, Dominic was Senior Medical Director in the Product Development Immunology group as well as the Associate Group Medical Director and Global Head of Anti-CD20 Immunology, where he filed two sBLAs leading to new indications for Rituxan® in orphan diseases (pemphigus vulgaris and granulomatosis with polyangiitis). At Amgen, Dominic worked as Medical Director and Global Development Leader for Inflammation. He started his career in industry at Roche as Director of Transplantation Research. Prior to the transition to industry, Dominic was in academia at Stanford University as the Director, Transplantation Immunology Laboratory. He started as a digestive surgery and liver transplantation attending surgeon at Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital, Assistance Publique in Paris, France.

Dominic received a Doctorate in Philosophy in Transplantation Immunology from the University of Paris V – Descartes and his Doctorate in Medicine, Masters in Immunology, and Certificate of Immunology and Immunopathology from the University of Paris XII.
