Cara Bauer is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Kyverna Therapeutics. Cara has more than 25 years of experience in global human resources leadership, building and scaling global organizations and as a strategic advisor and trusted business partner to leaders across a range of industries, including the biopharmaceutical, technology and entertainment sectors.
Prior to joining Kyverna, Cara served as the Global Head of Human Resources at Kite, a Gilead Company, where she oversaw all HR strategy and operations during a period of hypergrowth and global expansion which enabled Kite to become the world leader for cell therapy in hematology. Earlier, she served as the Global Head of HR for the Entertainment Division at Riot Games where she worked directly with the founders to build an Entertainment Studio separate from the core gaming business. Prior to Riot Games, Cara held various HR leadership roles at companies such as Netflix, Amgen, Gartner and Novo Nordisk.
Cara is a deep expert in culture building and talent development starting with her early career in academia where her research interests included examining biases in performance appraisals and cognitive strategies to reduce bias. Her work has appeared in many journals, book chapters and professional presentations.
Cara received a bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from DePaul University, and a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from Wayne State University.
