Manal Morsy, MD, PhD, MBA, is the Chief Regulatory Officer at Kyvera Therapeutics and is responsible for the Company’s global regulatory strategy. Manal is an accomplished biopharmaceutical physician-executive who brings more than 27 years of extensive regulatory leadership experience, with a track record for successfully expediting regulatory and product development pathways that have led to multiple commercial approvals across a broad range of indications, new drug molecules, and biologics platforms.

Prior to joining Kyverna, Manal served as Chief Regulatory Officer at Ovid Therapeutics, where she led global regulatory activities for the company’s neurological and neurodegenerative therapeutic programs. She also served as Chief Regulatory Officer and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Vaxxinity Inc. Prior to that, Manal worked as the Executive Vice President and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Athersys Inc., a cell therapy company, where she worked for more than a decade. Earlier in her career, Manal spent six years at PTC Therapeutics, where she served as Vice President and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs. She also held senior regulatory roles at Johnson & Johnson and Merck and worked as an Assistant Professor in Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine.

Manal earned her Medical Degree from the University of Alexandria, Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, where she started her medical career as a pediatric geneticist. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Eastern Virginia Medical School/Old Dominion University and later earned a M.B.A. degree from Drexel University’s LeBow Business School. She has authored numerous scientific publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Biotechnology, The Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI), Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and Annual Review of Medicine (ARM).
